Below is a list of the technological advances throughout our history. 1980 – First 'offset' electric strike to align with mortise locks. 1982 – First electric strike with over 2,000 lbs. of holding force. 1986 – First universal electric strike to provide user flexibility. 1988 – First 'extra offset' product to align with Sargent, Schlage, and Yale mortise locks. 1989 – First field reversible electric strike from fail secure to fail safe. 1989 – First electric strike able to release under a pre-load. 1994 – First “Smart Strike” - invention of the 2005 SMART Pac™ 1996 – First U.L. fire door rated electric strike able to release under pre-load, the 7500 series. 1997 – First 'low profile' electric strike with a 1-1/16” backset, the 5000 series. 2000 – First completely surface mounted electric strike for rim exit devices, the 9600 series. 2003 – First electric strike designed for use with 2” fire rated door frames with the required ½” drywall penetration, the 4500 series. 2003 – First fire-rated version of a completely surface mounted electric strike, the 9500 series. 2005 – First electric strike to offer in-frame horizontal adjustability, the 5200 series. 2005 – First surface mounted, multi-purpose lock with over 1,000 lbs. of holding force, the 660 electro-mechanical lock. 2006 – First electric strike for rim exit devices with adjustable faceplate thickness, the Folger Adam 310-4 electric strike. 2007 – First hybrid electric strike with an integrated proximity card reader, the RF5010 series. 2007 – First completely concealed electric strike solution, the 5900 series. 2008 – First hybrid electric strike/proximity card combination that is completely concealed within the door frame, the RF5910 series.. 2008 – First electric strike to offer network intelligence at the door, the HT5000 series. 2009 – First value-priced electric strike to replace multiple competing products, the Vista V3 series. 2009 – First fire-rated, concealed electric strike that falls within the guidelines for retrofit into fire-rated frames, the 8300 series. 2010 – First slim-line 1/2" surface mounted electric strike for rim exit devices, the 9400 series. 2011 – First fire-rated, concealed electric strike for use with mortise locksets, the 8500 series. 2012 – First windstorm-rated, surface mounted electric strike for rim exit devices, the 9600 series. 2012 – First cabinet lock to use Aperio technology, the K100 cabinet lock. 2013 - Complete Pacs introduced. Strike body and faceplates in one convenient simple package.
